Riparian Rights Surveys in Michigan

Riparian Rights Surveys in Michigan

Stephenson Land Surveying has performed many Riparian Rights surveys which involve rights to the body of water adjoining property owners as well as their rights to extend piers and boats along their shoreline into the adjoining waterways.  These Riparian Rights surveys have been performed on Barron, Diamond, Magician, Juno, and Baldwin lakes in Cass County, Michigan, and Paw Paw Lake in Berrien County, Michigan.

Riparian Rights Surveys are more involved than a boundary survey and involve using aerial or ground mapping to assess the shape of the lake and waterfront area for use in equitably dividing the bottomland of the waterway for the upland property owner.

Riparian owners who have used our Riparian Rights surveys in a court setting have been successful in winning a judgment from the court system.  This further gives Stephenson Land Surveying credence in our ability to define these rights for our clients.

Nothing gives a lakefront owner more peace of mind than knowing what their riparian rights are and what their limitations may be.  Disputes between neighbors should involve a call to Stephenson Land Surveying for a consultation regarding these rights.

Our professional field crews and office staff can help with your Riparian Rights survey needs in Berrien, Cass, Allegan, Barry, St. Joseph, Kalamazoo, and Van Buren Counties in Michigan, and St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties in Indiana.
